How to Make the World’s Smallest Cup of Coffee

For their brand new advertisement, Finnish coffee roaster Paulig asked director and animator Lucas Zanotto to brew a cup of coffee from a single bean. Using a nail file to create the grounds, Zanotto then boils water over a single tea light, and finally pours the freshly brewed java one drop at a time into a thimble-sized mug. The video has a direct relationship to recently popularized miniature cooking videos on Youtube, which have produced everything from miniature deep-fried chicken to tiny Lees verder

Doting Dad Illustrates the Sweet and Silly Things His Young Daughter Says

Spaghetti Toes by Martin Bruckner

Just 3 years ago, graphic designer and father Martin Bruckner was inspired to begin Spaghetti Toes, a silly series that presents the cute and quirky things said by his then-2-year-old daughter, Harper Grace. Since then, Bruckner has dedicated much of his time to illustrating the imaginative phrases and made-up expressions curiously coined by little Harper.

Featuring cute, cartoon-y characters and a vivid color palette, Spaghetti Toes playfully captures Harper’s charming outlook on life. The series is composed of individual illustrations captioned with the “absurd, hilarious, adorable and ridiculous things” Bruckner and his artist wife, Michelle, overhear their daughter say on a daily basis. Ranging from the inadvertently existential (“Is Lees verder

Dual Bowls: Striking Mixed Metal Bowls Forged With the Ancient Art of Sand-Casting

Fusing ancient techniques with contemporary aesthetic, Dual Bowls are one-of-a-kind vessels forged from a mixture of recycled brass, copper, zinc, or nickel in this new project from artist Kawther Al Saffar. The bowls are made in partnership with the Alwafi Foundry in Kuwait who utilize a variety of sand-casting methods
with sand acquired from the nearby Nile river. Instead of masking or eliminating imperfections left behind from the casting process, Saffar chose to highlight them, giving each bowl a unique design while referencing the inherent complexity of forging a single object from two different materials.

Beautiful Anatomical Illustrations Intertwine the Human Body with Nature

Floral Anatomy Illustrations by Trisha Thompson Adams

Oklahoma-based artist Trisha Thompson Adams gracefully adorns the human body with blossoming flowers in her striking series of floral anatomy illustrations. Though delicately rendered in an ethereal style, each piece also explores dark themes like death and mortality.

Created with colorful oils and watercolors, Adams’ peculiar paintings add an element of enchantment to traditional medical illustrations. Like illustrations found in anatomy books, the series presents a range of human body parts, spanning bones, skulls, and organs. However, unlike drawings that are strictly clinical, Adams’ pieces overflow with botanical elements. Flowers sprout from a realistic brain, buds spring from a heart, and bouquets inhabit ribcages. In most instances, the body parts are Lees verder

Fashion Designer Illustrates Gorgeous Gowns in Enchanting Detail

Eris Tran Gown Designs

Vietnam-based fashion illustrator Eris Tran designs classically gorgeous gowns with a contemporary twist. Skillfully sketched and artistically conceived, the striking collection of illustrations showcases Tran’s avant-garde approach to traditional dress design.

Composed of a rich and diverse color palette, realistically-rendered textures, and lots of layers, each of Tran’s multi-dimensional drawings and paintings exhibit his ability to conceptualize his imaginative ideas. Foregoing a narrow approach to color for an all-inclusive rainbow range, Tran explores and experiments with pigments. He also employs a range of materials, including crushed velvet, exquisite feathers, and delicate lace, in his practice. Additionally, most of the his dresses are floor-length—though some have high-low hemlines and leggy slits—and feature stunning silhouettes ready for a Lees verder

Astrology Makeup

Sagittarius

Checking a horoscope is a daily or monthly ritual for many people. To them, their celestial Zodiac sign helps guide, or even dictate, their lives. Paying homage to this powerful, intangible force is Setareh Hosseini, a Toronto-based makeup artist who has created stunning looks inspired by astrology. Her Zodiac makeup interprets each of the 12 signs, which then seemingly transforms her into the different characters.
